  2. Probably the most rewarding video I have ever seen, incredibly well said and done, kudos to you!

  3. Thanks, Jody! I haven’t looked back with a single regret… Happy cruising!

  4. Way to go! I know several people that would love to do that… glad you’re back… really enjoy the videos. Live long and prosper~

  5. Really great video, you have such a talent for it. Glad you are working through life on your own terms!

  6. Hello Jolly Mon! When I was 14 yrs old, my Dad’s uncle would take us cursing around the San Juan’s in his Chris Craft. From then on, my dream has been to own a boat and cruise around the San Juan Islands. My wife is from Bellingham and, now that I am retired, we are moving to our home there later this year. Next step is to acquire the boat, a motor yacht. I was wondering if you have any suggestions about what to look for in a boat for that area. I am a helicopter pilot and boating will be new. Or, perhaps the subject of boating and boats can be a part of your blog or other communications. Thank you,
    Thunderhorse

  7. Although there might have been some cursing, I meant he took us cruising. LOL

  8. Hello Thunderhorse! Glad you’ll be moving to the area and want to take up boating. There are so many great places to explore not far at all from home. As for boats, there are so many options and much of it depends on personal preferences and needs. Currently, moorage is a big consideration as slips are not as plentiful as they have been in recent years, and often larger slips are hard to come by. I’d suggest looking at lots of boats and seeing what you like and what checks most of the “must haves” on your list, and know that “project boats” are rarely a good deal… Good luck with your move and congratulations on your retirement.

  9. Ha! I missed that on first read, so I am literally laughing out loud right now. I’m pretty certain there was some cursing on our boat when I was a kid…

  10. There is so much I love about this video! Just the other day I looked at your channel wondering if I had missed a video. Your timing was perfect. The San Juans are my happy place, but living in the high Utah desert, I only get there once a year. So I guess you can say I live vicariously through your PNW adventures. Keep them coming!

  11. Right behind you, just retired and starting the downsizing phase.

[Q1] What do you use as your legal address now that you are unencumbered?, a P.O. box?

[Q2] What kind of video camera do you use? – it is awesome clear.

  12. Have fun with your downsize. It’s a very rewarding process, but wasn’t necessarily easy. I moved pretty quick – went from making the decision to sell to moving out in two months! Fortunately, I had started paring down my “stuff” a couple of years ago, but it was a ton of work. The first step to downsizing is to stop acquiring…

I have a PMB (personal mail box) at the local UPS Store, which gives me a street address, which I have used for pretty much everything. It works out well for receiving packages, etc. I think one of my banks didn’t like it for a physical address, so I used my marina, and they were satisfied with that.

For most of this video I used – believe it or not – my iPhone XS. The shots from February were on a Canon EOS T5i, and the drone is a DJI Spark. It was pretty amazed at the quality of the iPhone video!
